My Biggest Project Yet - Blog

Some client requests feel like passion projects. Last fall, I was fortunate enough to get another one of those gigs.

Alex Turley, the CEO of Henry Turley Company and a long time client of mine, reached out and said he wanted to “get the band back together” to record some of Henry’s best stories. Henry, who is the founder of Henry Turley Company and Alex’s uncle, is one of the most influential people in recent Memphis history. He helped develop and revitalize many different areas of the city, including Harbor Town, South Main, the Edge District, and Uptown, the subject of our newest video project.

Alex and I met with Ashley Mikulski, HT’s marketing lead, at their office in the Cotton Exchange Building and nailed down a plan for interviewing Henry, as well as several other influential characters in the Uptown story.

We then filmed nine interviews in October, including a two hour sit-down chat with Henry himself. Over the next two months, I turned the hours of interviews into a compelling 45-minute narrative about Uptown’s triumphant comeback orchestrated by Henry Turley and his partners.

Storytelling has always been my favorite aspect of my job and it’s been my number one priority from the start. If you have a new story you’d like me to help you tell, please reach out and let’s talk about it.
